Founded by graduates of the University of Toronto, Nanoleaf creates high efficiency light bulbs using the latest LED technology. The company recently launched a new connected lighting product, the Smart Home Kit, following a successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. The Nanoleaf Smarter Kit allows users to control the lights through Apple Home Kit verbal commands such as “Turn on the lights” or “Set the brightness to 50%.” The kit includes a Smart Hub, the brains behind the operation, and two of their award winning lights, the Nanoleaf Smart Ivy and Nanoleaf Smart Gem.
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the company also announced their newest product Aurora. With this next-generation product Nanoleaf has ditched the light bulb and created an aesthetically-pleasing triangular design outfitted with color-changing LED panels that are lightweight and modular. The company expects the Aurora to be available in Spring 2016.
